Come and visit the HempsteadWorks Career Center, a full service One-Stop center that meets the needs of employers and job seekers.

HempsteadWorks is a network of organizations that assist employers in hiring qualified workers. It also helps job seekers to develop their skills and to secure employment.

The HempsteadWorks Career Center includes a spacious, modern resource room, where customers can obtain career counseling, referrals, information (related to the job market, child care, transportation, financial assistance, etc.), a computerized job bank Internet access, resume writing and cover letter software, job search videos and cd-roms, along with photocopiers, telephones and fax machines.

In addition, the center includes a career library, assessment software programs and on-site interviews with employers. HempsteadWorks also funds education and training programs and job search workshops related to resumes, cover letters, interviewing skills, the modern workplace, hi-tech job search, salary negotiation raises, new job transition and job retention, self-esteem and selfconfidence in job search.

Employers are provided with space to conduct interviews within the center. They also use center resources to recruit employees, apply for funds to train new and current workers, apply for tax credits and more.
